Did the losers of globalization vote for Donald Trump?
The U.S. 2016 presidential election has simply signified the emergence of nouveau protectionist ideologies and alt-right supporters and has portrayed that two presidential candidates were disliked by a large number of supporters (protectionists vs. liberalists). The most important aspect of this election is the degree to which huge segments of the voters were in solidarity for common goals: Clinton’s voters for further globalization and integration, while Trump’s voters for more protectionist policies, tighter immigration, and reduction of free trade and globalization.
